Fabián Salas
is a worldwide famous dancer, teacher and coreographer from Buenos Aires. With great success, he teaches in Argentina, Brasil, USA, Canada and Europe.
He is well known and applauded around the world as well as a teacher and as a great performer. He is famous for his “colgadas”and he is the “spinal column” of Cosmotango. Fabian is one of the principal promoter of CITA (Congreso International de Tango Argentino), the most important annual event which takes place in Buenos Aires bringing together all the tango fans and the most representative artists of argentine tango.
With more than 15 years of tango experience, he has contributed in creating new ways of dancing tango, with his own, unique style. Fabian Salas is a connoseur of arcane tango approaches and an untiring researcher.
In 1994-1995 he partecipated in the original cast of the argentine tango show “Gotan” (award winner as Best Musical) and also he performed in the show ”El Patio de la Morocha” (1993-1994) at “Teatro Municipal General San Martin” in Buenos Aires. In 1997 he danced and was amongs the three principal dancers and characters in the famous “The Tango Lesson” by Sally Potter.

They met in the beginning of 1990. They studied with the best teachers in Buenos Aires and together with other “milongueros” they contributed to the new revival of argentine tango in Buenos Aires, which today is the style so well known worldwide.
They settled in France, creating the “Compania Union Tanguera” in Lyon. Esteban and Claudia work regularly in France and in others cities in Europe, and of course in Buenos Aires too, teaching and dancing in several festivals and shows.
In their way of dancing it is remarkable the will of unifying the aspects of tango dance of today (unusual changes of direction, the research of new dynamics and the particular use of the out-of-axis movements) with the traditional way of dancing tango of the argentianian people.

They danced in “Imagenes de Tango”, which was coreographed by Ana Maria Stekelman at “Sala P. Neruda del Complejo La Plaza”(1990).

Claudia Codega grew up with classical ballet and contemporary dance; her principal teachers were Freddy Romero, Ana Maria Stekelman (contemporary dance), Moira Chapman (jazz), Luis Badasarre, Sonia Von Potovsky (ballet) and Anne Le Pord (barre au sol). She also attented coreographic composition courses with A. M. Stekelman. She performed with several groups of contemporary dancers in several theatres in Buenos Aires (1987-89, 1997) and in Sevilla (1992). She started dancing tango at the beginning of 1990 and from 1991 she is completely dedicated to it.

Esteban Spaggiari, who's stage name is Esteban Moreno, is the president of “Cia Union Tanguera”. He is a dancer and a coreographer and he is passionately devoted to tango since 1990.
He discovered tango dancing in 1988 through the CCGSM (Centro Cultural Gral. San Martin) with Gustavo Naveira and Olga Besio, and through the “C.C. Fortunato Lacamera” together with Dina Martina and other teachers.
In 1990 he met Claudia Codega entering the “Grupo Ciclos” under the direction of Alicia Orlando and they have been dancing partners eversince.

:::::::::: THE TEACHERS:::::::::: Pablo Inza y Moira Castellano :::::::::::::::::::::::::


Pablo Inza
is a dancer with a particular and fluent style, teaching with an unusual approach and through it he expresses his own way of dancing tango. Pablo is one of the argentinian dancers actively engaged in the renewal of tango dancing.
His background is related to contemporary dance and he studied and performed at “Teatro General S. Martin, which represents one of the most important theatres and centres of contemporary dancing, in Buenos Aires and Argentina. He possesses a wide knowledge of performing arts such as theatre, art and dramatic composition which he studied and further explored at “ Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramatico.

Pablo’s tango history began in 1991 and then he gained approval from worldwide tango communities, participating at the most popular tango festival in Buenos Aires, Madrid, Bergen, Hamburg, Losanna, and many others.
He was the coreographer and director of several tango shows among which “Radio Cabulero” (Bergen, Norway),” El arte de amar” (Amsterdam) and recently “Cambalanche”, in Buenos Aires.

Moira Castellano is a dancer with sensual and accurate movements. She lives in Paris.
Together with Pablo she performed in several festivals and workshops throughout Europe.

This is an exciting couple with refined aesthetics, one of the most appreciated ones.
In 2005 they worked in Buenos aires, Usa, Canada, Australia and Turkey.

:::::::::: THE TEACHERS :::::::::: Pablo Tegli y Eugenia Parrilla :::::::::::::::::::::::::::


Pablo Tegli began dancing in Europe following the way of Gustavo Naveira.
He is an eclectic artist passing through photography, drawing and music arriving to tango and voyaging everywhere in Europe. In Buenos Aires, he worked together with Fabian Salas, Gabriel angio, Chico Frumboli, Nestor Ray.
Coming back in Europe, he coupled with Victoria Vierira, partecipating to several international workshops and performing as solo couple to Gotan Project live concerts.
The style of Pablo is based on the research of elegance, improvvisation, listening and performing the music.


 

Eugenia Parrilla is a very telented dancer, dancing for many years with Chicho Frumboli. She has sensual and accurate movements, and through time she has experimented and matured a particular and new movement technique, which constitutes the basis of the tango nuevo of nowadays.
She has expensively studied dance and movement.
Thanks to her teaching and to her way of dancing, she offers a unique chance to see a real expression of “tango nuevo”.

Formed in 2003 by four experienced musicians whose paths met in tango music.
They often perform in Palermo, providing people with the emotion of dancing to live music.
Their choice of songs has its roots in the classic tradition of argentine tango with modern elements in the music arrangement coming from other music styles in which each of them is involved, such as ethnic, jazz, contemporary music and other.


They recently released their first CD: “Volver” – La Locomotiva (Palermo)

Maura was born in Palermo, where she has a base while travelling. She graduated in philosophy with an experimental thesis on cinematography and time. She collaborated with “La Repubblica”, writing for theatrical performances and cinematography. In 1996 she moved to Paris for two years where she studied cinematography and theatre.
In Paris she began dancing tango with Pablo Veron. She is an actress of the “Living Theatre” where she studied.
She partecipated in the movies “Terra Madre” by Salvo Cuccia (1995), “Il consiglio d’Egitto” by Emidio Greco (2001) and in several theatrical-dancing tango shows: “Café Tango” (2001), Tanguera (Marsala 2003), “Momenti di Tango”(2005) and in June 2006, in ”Expression Tango”.
In theatre she directed and acted in “Atto di Fede”, a theatrical performance sponsored by the Palermo Commune (Progetto Urban 2000/2001) and “Genio e Follia”, a performance in collaboration with Maurizio Maiorana (2003).

She realized various video documentaries: “Shqiponjat-Aquile” in collaboration with the Piana degli Albanesi Commune and Rai Radio Televisione Italiana, and awarded by the “Istituto Gramsci Siciliano” in 1996/7. “Della finta vita”, an experimental video, in 1998.
After three years of research and work, her last production: “La Selva Oscura” in 2005, a video documentary on tango and dictatorship in argentina during the 70's, commemorating the 30,000 desaparecidos killed during that period, of which 5,000 has sicilian origins. It was produced in collaboration with “Associazione Culturale I Candelai”, ”Colortango Palermo” and “Democratici di Sinistra Palermo”. The video was presented in Buenos Aires in its world preview on the 6th of September 2005 in “Salon Canning” in a collaborative project by Omar Viola and “Parakultural”, on tango and dictatorship.
“La Selva Oscura” has since been shown in several tango festivals, events and cinematography festivals in Italy and abroad.

In over ten years she has specialized in tango with Osvaldo Roldan and Monica Maria, Claudia Codega and Esteban Moreno, Geraldine Rojas and Javier Rodriguez, Tete, Aurora Lubiz and Jorge Firpo, Roberto Reis, Juan Carlos Copes, Eduardo and Gloria Arquimbao, Mingo and Esther Pugliese, Sergio Cortazzo and Gachi Fernandez, Carlos Rivarola, and Julio Balmaceda y Corina de la Rosa. Becoming very keen on the dynamics of the Tango Nuevo, she specialized in it with Gustavo Naveira, Giselle Anne, Fabian Salas and Carolina del Rivero, Chicho Frumboli and Eugenia Parrilla, and also with Pablo Villaraza, Dana Frigoli and Pablo Veron.
